Unfortunately, HP has decided to release two printer versions these days:

one that can use refilled cartridges and one that is locked into using only brand-name HP cartridges.

Beware of printer model numbers that end in "e."

The "e" printers usually double your ink costs in the long run, despite the incentives designed to trick you into buying the printer initially.
